Bethany Hamilton

Bethany Hamilton has become a source of inspiration to millions through her story of determination, faith, and hope. At the age of 13, Bethany lost her left arm to a 14-foot tiger shark, which seemed to end her career as a rising surf star. One month after the attack, Bethany returned to the water and within two years had won her first national title. In 2007, she realized her dream of surfing professionally and since then, her story has been told in a New York Times best selling autobiography and in the 2011 film, Soul Surfer. Bethany is involved in numerous charitable efforts, including her own foundation, Friends of Bethany, which reaches out to amputees and youth, encouraging and offering hope to overcome through Jesus Christ. Passionate about helping young women be unstoppable in life and faith, Bethany has launched a new website and online course for sharing content and facilitating connection. Her greatest joy is being a wife and mother, and she continues to touch and inspire lives globally as a professional surfer and motivational speaker.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS


Where is the event at?

The gala will be held on the second floor of the CHI Health Center (455 N 10th St, Omaha, NE 68102). You may enter through the west or north doors of the building and take the escalator or elevator up to the ballroom.


Do I need to bring a printed ticket to the event?

You will not need to present a ticket. Guests will be asked to provide their first and last name at the registration table, which is their "ticket" into the event. Please contact us to transfer your ticket.


Where should I park?

Parking is available for $10 in Lot B, which is located west of the CHI Health Center. Cash and all major credit cards are accepted. A map is available here. Feel free to use street parking if you can find it.


What is the dress code?

The unofficial dress code is business professional. However, some guests may choose to wear formal attire. 


Where should I stay if I'm traveling from out of town?

A room block is available at the adjacent Hilton Omaha and nearby Omaha Marriott Downtown.


Is there a bag policy at the CHI Health Convention Center?

Small purses are strongly encouraged. There is no clear bag requirement. 


What if I have dietary concerns?

Please contact us by August 6th, and let us know! There may be an additional cost if we do not receive your special meal request by the deadline.
